DFM Is Affiliated With
● North Carolina Yearly Meeting - Conservative (NCYM-C). Our yearly meeting, which serves eight monthly meetings in North Carolina and Virginia. “Conservative” in the sense of conserving unprogrammed waiting worship, unpaid ministry, and non-hierarchical yearly meeting structure. Annual sessions each July; interim body meetings October & March. http://www.ncymc.org/
● Piedmont Friends Fellowship (PFF). An association of unprogrammed Friends meetings in North Carolina and nearby states, as well as a yearly meeting, affiliated with FGC. Annual retreat in May or June. https://www.piedmontfriends.org/
● Friends General Conference (FGC). An umbrella organization and resource hub for more theologically liberal unprogrammed Friends in the United States. We are affiliated through Piedmont Friends. Annual gathering in July or online in February. http://www.fgcquaker.org/
● Friends World Committee on Consultation (FWCC). Encourages fellowship among all branches of Friends from around the world. Sponsors world conferences, sectional organizations and conferences. We are affiliated through NCYM-C. http://www.fwcc.world/
● American Friends Service Committee (AFSC). A Quaker organization that works for peace and social justice both domestically and abroad. http://afsc.org/
● Friends Committee on National Legislation (FCNL). A Quaker lobby working for U.S. public policy change on Capitol Hill since 1943. http://fcnl.org/
● Friends Committee on North Carolina Legislation (FCNCL). North Carolina Quakers working for public policy change within the state. https://fcncl.org/
● Quaker Earthcare Witness (QEW). A network of Quakers and allies addressing the ecological and social crises of the world from a spiritual perspective, emphasizing Quaker process and testimonies. http://www.quakerearthcare.org/
● Friends for LGBTQ Concerns. A faith community that affirms that of God in all people. Gathering twice yearly for worship and play, drawing sustenance from each other and from the Spirit. https://www.flgbtqc.org/
● Carolina Friends School (CFS). Provides Pre-K-12 education based in Quaker values. Founded in 1962 by members of DFM and Chapel Hill Friends Meeting. http://www.cfsnc.org/
● Quaker House. Founders include members of DFM. Operates GI Rights Hotline and provides counseling and support to military personnel who are questioning their role. Affiliated with Fayetteville Friends. http://www.quakerhouse.org/

● Durham CAN* (Congregations, Associations, Neighborhoods). Strengthens community institutions by developing the skills and capacity of their leaders to be change agents in the public process. Builds relationships of trust across Durham County, intentionally crossing boundaries of economics, race, age, religion, gender, sexual orientation and geography. https://www.durhamcan.org/
● Durham Congregations in Action. A cooperative, multi-faith network offering care and support for the most vulnerable, and planting seeds in new initiatives to change lives in Durham. Its mission is to bring together congregations to promote understanding across boundaries of faith, race and ethnicity and build an inclusive community of justice and peace. https://dcia.org/
● Religious Coalition for a Nonviolent Durham.* (R) Invites people of faith and goodwill to come alongside those most affected by violence through vigil ministry among surviving loved ones of homicide victims, support circles for citizens returning from incarceration, and restorative justice practices that repair the harm caused by wrongdoing. https://nonviolentdurham.org/
● Urban Ministries. (V,$,F,E) Serving those who are homeless, hungry, or in need through its shelter and kitchen in Durham. https://umdurham.org/
